Image and consent policy
Images help supporters understand a project, but protecting children and privacy comes first. We are careful about which images are used especially if they involve children, families and school grounds.

The rule
A campaign never needs a photo of a child to succeed. Images of the space, the plan, the drawing, the empty courtyard or the finished build are usually stronger, and they carry no risk. Where possible, use images of the project, site, plans or completed space rather than identifiable children.
You must have permission to upload and allow RFG to use any images. Do not upload images taken by a photographer or third party unless your organisation has the necessary usage rights.
Before you upload a photo of a child
- Your organisation must confirm it has appropriate current consent or authority to publish the image for the intended online uses.
- The consent must be retained by your school, service or organisation and provide confirmation to RFG if requested.
- Do not upload photos of any child whose family has opted out, including children with a safety or custody restriction.
- You confirm all of this when you submit a campaign, and our review team checks images before publication.
What we will not publish
- A child’s surname, full name or other identifying personal details alongside an identifiable photograph.
- Images that identify a child's home address, routine or location outside school hours.
- Photographs of children in swimwear, change rooms, bathrooms or other private settings.
- Images that appear staged to attract sympathy, or that show a child in distress.
- Any image where consent cannot be confirmed.
- Images showing name badges, student records or other personal information.
- Images where location or background details create an unnecessary safety risk.
- Images containing children who have not been appropriately cleared for publication.
What we prefer
- The site as it is today, so supporters can see the problem.
- Plans, sketches, quotes and product photos of what will be built.
- Non-identifying images such as wide shots, hands at work, project activities or children photographed from angles that do not identify them.
- After delivery: the finished space in use, with the same consent standard applied.
How images are used
Images you upload may appear on the campaign page, in link previews when the campaign is shared, in campaign updates and completion stories, and in RFG's own reporting and social posts about the project. We do not licence images to third parties or use them in paid advertising without asking first.
Asking for an image to be removed
Anyone — a parent, a school, a person in the photo — can ask us to remove an image, and we do not ask why. Email images@readyfundgrow.org.au with the campaign name and a description of the photo. We take it down within one business day of receiving the request, then let the creator know a replacement image is needed.
Child safety
Ready Fund Grow supports the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations. Concerns about a child's safety should go to your state child protection authority, or to the police on 000 in an emergency. You can also raise a concern with us at safety@readyfundgrow.org.au.
