Governance and fund handling

Who we are, who holds the money, how it is released, and where our funding comes from. If something here is unclear, ask us.

Entity details

  • Ready Fund Grow Pty Ltd — an Australian not-for-profit company
  • ABN 19 685 036 702
  • Charity and DGR status: we have applied for charity registration and deductible gift recipient endorsement. Those applications are not yet determined, so contributions are not currently tax deductible. A receipt is issued automatically.
  • Governance: we operate to the standards expected of a charitable organisation while our registration with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) is being assessed.

How money is held

Gifts are made to Ready Fund Grow, not to the school or organisation directly. Funds are held by RFG and applied to the project described on the campaign page. RFG charges no platform fee — the full gift goes to the project. Payment processing costs are met by RFG or by supporters who choose to add a voluntary top-up.

How money is released

  • The campaign closes and the total raised is confirmed.
  • The organisation signs a short funding agreement setting out what the money is for.
  • Bank details are verified with the organisation, independently of email instructions.
  • Funds are paid either to the organisation or directly to the supplier, whichever gives the clearest record.
  • The creator reports on delivery, with photos and a short account of what changed.

Where a campaign raises less than its target but more than its minimum viable amount, the scaled-back version described on the campaign page is delivered instead.

If a project cannot proceed

If a project cannot go ahead as described — the site changes, the organisation withdraws, costs move beyond reach — RFG applies the funds to a comparable project of similar purpose and benefit, and tells supporters what happened and where their gift went. RFG retains final discretion over the application of contributed funds.

Campaign review

Every campaign is reviewed before publication. We check that the organisation exists and has authorised the campaign, that the budget and timeline are plausible, that images meet our image and consent policy, and that the project fits our charitable purpose. Review is not an endorsement of any supplier, product or price, and approval is never guaranteed.

Our relationship with WaterUps

Ready Fund Grow was founded with support from WaterUps, an Australian manufacturer of wicking beds. RFG operates independently, with its own board and its own decision-making.

  • No campaign is required to use WaterUps products or any other named supplier.
  • Creators choose their own suppliers and obtain their own quotes.
  • Where a campaign does involve WaterUps products, that is disclosed on the campaign page.
  • WaterUps has no role in reviewing or approving campaigns.

Partners and funders

Partner recognition is proportionate to the contribution and subject to campaign suitability. Partners do not receive exclusivity, guaranteed campaign approval, control over supplier selection, or the ability to direct which specific campaigns are funded beyond agreed criteria such as region, theme or organisation type.
